MLC worked with architect Bob Henderson to create an elegant, three-bedroom residence at The Phoenix with panoramic views of the city. The unique two-story space provided an opportunity to create a dramatic great room. The white oak and tension-cable transoms at the fireplaces offer inviting intimate areas. Custom cabinetry and millwork throughout help to make this one-of-a-kind apartment a spectacular space.

The owner of this fifty-year-old ranch, located on a unique and beautiful lot in Bryn Mawr, hired architect Kiki Bolender to modernize both the interior and exterior spaces of the home originally built by her father. The interior of the house was completely gutted and rebuilt to meet the owner’s more modern tastes and lifestyle. A second-floor addition was added, consisting of a master bedroom suite and a guest room, and the first floor was expanded to include a great room with a six-foot Vermont Casting gas fireplace. New black metal custom windows and doors were installed, affording panoramic views of the spectacular wooded lot. The new exterior finish includes a Fundermax panel curtain wall, resulting in a home that is wonderfully integrated into its environment.

Two adjoining townhouses were combined and expanded with the help of Arlene Matzkin of Friday Architects to create a 5000-square-foot home on a charming street in the Rittenhouse Square area. The new single family home combines the historical charm of the buildings with modern, state-of-the-art interiors designed by designer Daniele Colonna. A large eat-in kitchen featuring custom cabinetry, granite countertops and glass tile splashes opens onto a loft-style living and dining room. The mahogany floors and stainless steel railings add a richness to the open floor plan. The bathrooms feature glass tiles, limestone and marble. A new sunroom opens onto a green meadow and a roof-top deck with spectacular views of the Philadelphia skyline.

This magnificent 160-year-old Delancey Place mansion was in desperate need of a total renovation. MLC worked with Rasmussen/Su Architects, who designed the 8,000-square-foot interior, to create a large, modern eat-in kitchen, an open living room/entrance area with custom cabinetry and millwork, leaded glass windows, five bedroom suites, a mahogany library, a media room, a five-stop elevator and a top-floor common room leading out to a large deck with a spectacular view of the Philadelphia skyline. The elegant center stair, the nine fireplaces, the original barrel plaster ceiling and the mahogany paneling in the dining room were retained. Expanded living space was created above a new two-car garage.

This 6,000 square foot townhouse, designed by Rasmussen/Su Architects, was totally remodeled to include four bedroom suites, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, a media room and a large, elegant entertaining area with a caterers’ kitchen and custom cabinetry throughout. Additional square footage was added to the 150-year-old structure to create a two-car garage with additional living space above. A top-floor grand room with a mini-kitchen opens to a large roof deck. A new five-story elevator provides ease of movement from floor to floor.

MLC worked with architect Tim Kerner from Terra Studios to renovate this townhouse in Fitler Square. The project included a new kitchen with custom cabinetry and quartz tops, a tile floor and a wall splash. The renovation also included a built-in wall unit and a new stair railing, which created a more open space for the owners.

With a child on the way, the owners of this Society Hill Trinity that was built in 1793 needed more space. With the help of Rasmussen/Su Architects and in coordination with the Philadelphia Historic Commission, they blended a new four-story addition with the historic original building. The interior of the original 795 square foot structure was demolished, while retaining the three original fire places and front facade. The entire side of the building was then removed to allow for a new, continuous floor plan between the old and the new sections. The new home, with more than twice the square footage of the original, now includes a new kitchen and dining area, as well as a new living room, family room, bathroom and bedroom, full master suite and fourth floor study with a deck. A floating metal and oak winding stair helps to maintain an open feel throughout.

When Metropolitan Bakery owner, Wendy Born, decided to convert the flower shop next to the Metropolitan Bakery at Rittenhouse Square into a Cafe, she asked for our help. Having previously completed the total renovation of Wendy's condominium on the Square, we were commissioned to realize the vision of architect Vibeke Lichten's design for a Cafe. The floor is a colored concrete and the walls are natural walnut. The custom cabinetry consists of both stainless steel and painted cabinets with white Carrera marble and stainless steel counter tops. As a special feature, a "green wall" of plantings was included. Details including solid walnut counter tops in the dining area, stainless steel tiles in the powder room and chalk board painted surfaces for menus help provide for a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Architect Jackie Gusic (inHabitat, LLC) created a wonderful open floor plan for this traditional Mt. Airy twin that required the removal off all interior walls on the first floor and the installation of structural beams. Upon entering through the newly constructed mudroom/vestibule (with a custom built seat bench with a cherry top) one is instantly surprised by the nontraditional openness of the entire first floor. The gourmet kitchen with custom cabinetry, stone tops, stainless steel appliances and glass tile blends seamlessly with the newly configured living room, dining room and family room. For good measure, the master bedroom was remodeled to include a walk-in closet and custom cabinetry.

MLC worked with architect Tim Kerner to completely remodel the first floor of this 3-story rowhome near Rittenhouse Square. We added a powder room and created a new, more expansive kitchen consisting of custom cabinetry by Pappajohn Woodworking and stone tops. The rear wall was opened up to accommodate a new, large sliding door unit that leads to a private patio with new stone tiles and a custom wood gate. New custom cabinets and millwork were installed in the entrance foyer and living room and an existing masonry fireplace was converted to a gas linear fireplace. All new wood flooring was installed to complete this custom renovation.

Jackie Gusic (InHabit, LLC) designed a complete renovation of the master bedroom suite at this full floor apartment on Rittenhouse Square. The bedroom, with spectacular Rittenhouse Square views, was modified to incorporate new lighting, custom built cabinetry and gray stained white oak flooring. The walk-in closet is a combination of custom built cabinetry and stone tops with a spectacular light fixture over the island. The new bathroom has a soaking tub and shower with a frameless glass enclosure. The custom built vanity and stone top are incorporated into the shower and features a custom made Carrera marble undermount sink. The floor and wall tile are 12”x24” marble.

Jackie Gusic (InHabit, LLC) designed a totally new penthouse apartment at the Rittenhouse Square Hotel Condominiums that involved relocating the kitchen, eliminating a bedroom and creating a great room that takes advantage of the spectacular Rittenhouse Square and city vistas. The custom kitchen is highlighted by a striking marble island. The new wood floors, fireplace and modern tile all combine to create a spectacular new modern home in the heart of the city.
